A little about me and the things I get up to...
I am originally from North Carolina. I was born and raised in Fayetteville. At the age of 16, I converted to islam. I wear hijab and eat salmon patties.Believe it or not, I am a redneck muslimah.
In 2004 I moved to the Middle East. I wanted to experience the world and to see life on the other side of the globe. I grew up in an extremely abusive home--physically, emotionally, and sexually. After the death of my grandmother in 2003, I decided to cut ties with the toxicity that was my family and decided to start living my life for me. That's when I decided an adventure was in order.

I didn't know anyone nor did I speak the language but that wasn't going to stop me. And I'm glad it didn't because in 2007 I met a wonderful man and by 2008 we were married. I've now returned to the USA. I must say it's very weird being back. I didn't realize how use to things over seas I had become until I came back.
This blog is about my life, my adventures, my love of writing, experiencing, sharing, and tasting the world around me.
You don't have to like or agree to anything I post, but I won't tolerate hate or hateful speech towards anyone or anything. If you don't like something you see, that's what the little red X in the upper right corner is for.
